Odessa Oblast is located in the south-western part of Ukraine, on the territory of the region the state boundary between Ukraine, Romania, Moldova and the partially recognized Transnistria lies, south-eastern part of the Odessa Oblast is washed by the Black Sea. The leading sectors of the Odessa Oblast economy are metallurgy, chemical and light industry, region also has well developed electricity generating sector. Due to the vast areas of the black earth soils agriculture is an important part of the Odessa Oblast economy, crops, gourds, grapes grow here. Seven trade ports operate in Odessa Oblast, including the largest - Odessa Marine Trade Port, as well as a numerous river ports. One of the important sectors of Odessa region's economy is tourism.
